Once a payment request has been received by the payment engine, and the customer has captured his/her credit card information, they click the "Next" button to continue the payment process.
After that, the card is processed by BankServ for a 3DSecure check.
If that succeeds then the request is submitted to the acquiring bank.
The payment gateway will notify the merchant of success or failure.
3.6.2 Fraud Checks
The card is checked against various fraud criteria, and if it fails any of these, the transaction will not be processed.
3.6.3 3-D Secure Check
A 3-D Secure check is performed in order to protect both the Merchant and the Customer from fraud.
The card is authenticated by BankServ Africa.
The customer will receive an OTP which he/she enters in the Password field.
If authentication is successful, payment is authorized by the issuing bank.
Once that is successful, the transaction will be processed or fails otherwise.
